final revised personal project proposal (frank delia)

Strategy

A) My goal in my personal project is to help aspiring young athletes improve their game by creating a blog in which I can take information from athletic training articles found on the internet or personal trainers can share a post on new and improved ideas and training methods that they find most successful. Young athletes will simply follow my blog and be able to receive a plethora of information created by professionals in their desired sport and in return the athletes will be able to try out new methods of training and see what fits them best.

B) This is much like other blogs however the approach is quite different. Instead of telling these young athletes the best way to train, and not giving them any options but one philosophy, I am giving them many different ideas and different regiments that they can try out for them self’s to make their own decisions on what works best for their body. Everybody knows their own body it’s just a matter of listening to the feedback the body gives. And that is what separates my blog from everyone else, I am trying to give many options instead of saying do this.

C) I am trying to reach the high school/college level of athletes. Teenagers that are trying to get places with their favorite sport and because they have such love for the game they are willing to do their own research on what they can do to make themselves better. This can also be used by coaches looking for new ways to help their team improve or new strategies for game day.

D) The reason why I am so passionate about this is because when I was a young high school athlete with goals on making it to the next level and having the desire to play college football I was always searching the internet on ways to train differently or new methods that are out there. Rather than these athletes waste their time searching forever for what they are looking for you can log on to this website and it will have each individual area of what you’re looking for. For example the home page of the website will have various categories such as weight lifting, speed training, 40 yd dash training, stretching, field drills, drills for specific positions, game concepts so that players can learn more about the game and be mentally ahead of their opponent, reviews on newest equipment available, nutrition, supplements ect.

E) This website will hopefully make athletes better in terms of taking them to higher levels of play then they would have been with their prior knowledge. The website opens them up to more information at their disposal then they would from any other site because almost any area of training will have information on it for players to read and absorb so that they can try new things and get better.

Story

-1 help players improve at their favorite sport

-2 help coaches improve their team

-3 give players and trainers of higher levels of athletics the opportunity to give back

-4 create the first mulit-sport training website

-5 help players create memories that will last a lifetime

1) The first objective of my project is to help players get better. This website will take information from athletic training articles found on the internet or give personal trainers the option of sharing their methods, ideas, and training concepts that will make them bigger faster or stronger smarter at their desired sport. Rather than search the internet forever all information in specific areas will be organized at athlete’s disposal.

2) The second objective of the website is to help coaches make their team better. If coaches are looking for different schemes to try out, or different workouts for their team, or even different drills and conditioning they can go to this website and read upon what they feel will fit their team the best. The objective is to have all facets of a sport and new ideas available to whomever logs on to the site.

3) This website also gives athletes who already are at higher levels of play a way to give back to the community. For example if a college athlete has a drill that they feel helps them in a certain area of play, they then can share it with everyone by posting it on this site and in return younger players or other players at the same level can experience this for them self’s, essentially people helping people.

4) This will be the first multi-sport training website that is nonprofit and is strictly to help people. No gimmicks, no prices, no smoke and mirrors just sports and how to improve yourself.

5) By these players getting better they in return cause a chain reaction and it trickles down to the rest of their peer athletes. For example if an athlete or a coach stumbles upon this website and they find a way to make their team drastically better. They soon after get on a roll and achieve something special as a team such as a playoff berth or state championship, they now have memories that will last them forever. If this site can help just one team or player do something special then it will have been well worth it.

TOOLS

1)      The tools I have been using are primarily facebook, twitter and emails. A lot of the people who are helping me out with their knowledge that they have in the athletic training areas I already know. Many trainers that I have trained me in the past are the main focus of my help as well as friends I have at home who are already certified athletic trainers. I also used some networking through a classmate. Derek Echevarria has a trainer who he contacted me with who trains professional athletes that I have been in touch with and is helping me with this project.

2)      The drumbeat page will leave more open ends to my blog and have more ways for people to connect/find out about my blog.

People

1)      The people that I am trying to reach are athletic trainers with experience in college or professional athletic training. The best way that I can get these people to help me is by emailing, tweeting, facebook message me with new ideas, philosophies, and regiments that they have seen success with. I am looking for good quality workout programs so I can make them available to the young people so they can get a head start on their competition.

Prototype

1)      My prototype is on blogspot.com. The blog has 5 posts in all areas of training for young athletes with a link to a professional athletic trainer who has trained countless professional athletes. Such names as Desean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Nyan Boatang of the New York Giants.
